You’ll have noticed this shiny blue tag on our bottles, and as the first aftercare brand in the world to achieve bluesign® system partner status in 2007,  it’s an accreditation we’re so proud to tell you more about.

What is bluesign®?

The bluesign® standard is a widely-accepted, reliable and proactive tool that certifies the eco-friendliness of the entire production chain. Instead of focusing on finished product testing, the bluesign® standard analyses all input streams – from raw materials to chemical components. Since assessment begins prior to production even begins, this accreditation means you can be rest assured that our products are cleaner, safer and more environmentally responsible.

When we joined

In 2007, we were the first aftercare brand in the world to receive bluesign® accreditation and now, 14 years later, we’re proud to still be a full bluesign® system partner, with a wide range of bluesign®  approved products.

What Bluesign® means to us

Bluesign® is an integral part of our core values, using the system means that we can measure the sustainability of our products and processes. Through this renowned third-party accreditation, you can feel assured that as a brand we’re focused on sustainability and environmentally-responsible protection!

As well as adding to our own eco credentials and ensuring environmental protection across our range, it also allows us to collaborate with fellow leading bluesign® members from the outdoor industry who equally hold bluesign® as an integral to the work that they do.

The bluesign® system relentlessly pursues environmental responsibility on a global scale, perfectly aligning with Grangers core values.

In addition to being a bluesign® system partner, we also work closely with SATRA – an independent authority on footwear, leather goods, and apparel – to ensure that our products remain as effective as possible. We support the Responsible Down Standard, to ensure that the garment manufacturers we work with use only ethically sources down. And, we have ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation, further demonstrating our commitment to the environment.

Grangers products have been PFC free since 2007, before DWR coating regulations came into effect, first in Europe and later in North America. We recognised the need to be part of the solution to harmful chemicals being released into the environment from the manufacture of outdoor clothing and our lab went to work. Our products are water based and meet strict environmental standards - including Bluesign.

We do not test on animals and never will

In 2020 we introduced an important and impactful change to our packaging by switching all of our main bottle sizes to 100% recycled plastic. All of our 275ml Spray bottles and 300ml bottles are now made with 0% virgin plastic and are 100% recyclable.

We have also introduced an eco refill pouch option for our best selling Performance Repel Plus Spray so that you can now keep your existing spray bottle and just empty the refill pouch into it when you're ready. The refill pouch uses 74% less plastic and is 100% recyclable. We also have refill 1 litre eco pouches available in Clothing Repel, Down Wash, Performance Wash and Wash+Repel Clothing 2-in-1 that use 72% less plastic than a regular bottle

At Grangers our goal is to help you protect your investment and extend the life of your technical clothing, footwear and gear, enabling it to perform at its best, keeping it out of landfill and at the same time allowing you to enjoy the benefits for as long as possible. #ecograngers
